Cleaners, photographers and other mobile businesses often serve clients at their locations. Their local presence needs to describe that reality. Before investing in profile optimisation, check eligibility and distinguish a service-area operation from an online-only business or a staffed location customers can visit.

Represent the business you actually operate

Google’s guidelines distinguish businesses with customer-facing locations and those that travel to customers. A service-area business should hide its address when it does not serve customers there. Do not invent an office, use a misleading name or create duplicate profiles to appear in more neighbourhoods. Confirm the current eligibility rules for your exact operating model before making changes.

Help the caller know what to ask

Explain the service range, service area and practical booking information in plain language. Connect the profile to a relevant service page rather than a confusing general homepage. For a mobile photographer, for example, the customer may need event type, coverage area and the information required for a quote. Use authentic work images and keep availability information up to date.

Organise access and lead handling

Keep the business owner in control of the account and grant appropriate access to collaborators. Agree who monitors enquiries and how changes to hours or services are approved. A polished profile is less useful if calls go unanswered. Sharbal Studio can help shape the offer, supporting content and enquiry journey; profile work and account access are agreed as part of the project scope.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Practical checklist

  • Check eligibility before creating a profile.
  • Use the real service area and correct address visibility.
  • Assign ownership and enquiry coverage.

Does listing a city guarantee visibility throughout it?

No. A service area communicates where you operate. It is not a promise that the profile will rank everywhere in that area.
